ID Photo App is a cropping and checking tool plus a set of guides, provided “as is” for general informational use. Because this site’s subject is less documented than passport photos, its limits deserve spelling out even more plainly than usual — please read the three short sections below.

Convention is not law

Most of the formats on this site — badge photos, student IDs, membership cards, profile headshots — are conventions: what issuers commonly ask for, not what any regulation mandates. Only the 35×45 mm ID-card format is a genuine standard. Every preset and every table row is labelled accordingly, but the label itself carries the real disclaimer: where your employer, school, platform or authority publishes its own figures, theirs win — even when they contradict the convention we’ve encoded. If the stakes matter, find the issuer’s written ask before you crop.

A heuristic check is not an approval

The tool measures what software can measure on your device: the crop’s shape and pixel size, the effective print resolution, the crown-to-chin distance you mark, and the neutrality of the border pixels. It cannot see expression, shadows on the face, photo age, dress-code rules, or the judgement of the human who reviews your submission — and for most of these formats, no published rulebook exists for software to check against at all.

A green report means no common technical problem was detected. It is not — and no website can honestly offer — a guarantee of acceptance.

No warranty, no affiliation

The site and its output are provided without warranties of any kind. We test the tool across formats and edge cases, but to the maximum extent permitted by law, ID Photo App and its maintainers accept no liability for losses arising from its use — including rejected submissions, missed enrolment deadlines or re-shoot costs. The site has no affiliation, endorsement or connection with any employer, school, badge-system vendor, social platform or government issuer.

Keep your source file

Processing happens on your device and nothing is stored here — which also means nothing is backed up. Keep the original photo until the submission is fully accepted, and if you print from the sheet, measure one photo with a ruler before relying on the rest: printer scaling is the one step no tool can check for you.

Advertising

The site may show third-party advertising (Google AdSense) to cover running costs. Advertisers have no influence on what the tool reports or what the guides say.
